easaHQ shortlist announced

Last month easaUK2010 launched an open competition to freshen up the appearance of easaHQ.

Over the course of the month that the competition was open the info pack was downloaded over 1500 times, with enquiries from 5 continents.

The building is somewhat of a land mark in Manchester and there are many with a great affection for it, so any work would be judged by a great many with strong opinions.

The standard of entry was very high, and the range of different approaches was a delight to the organising team.  We are confident that the eventual winner will be embraced by fans of the work Stephenson Bell carried out.

The short list was deiced upon by members of the easaUK2010 team and will be presented to the Judging panel for the final winner to be decided.

The short list:

Kelly Bair (CA USA),

Nicos Yaitros (Cyprus),

Charlie Howard (Manchester),

AODL (Manchester),

Aria Group Architects (IL USA),

Joe Lindley (Manchester)

The final decision will be announced on Friday 15th May at easaHQ office warming party, and here on the easa newsreel.

Links to all entries including the short list will be posted on the easaHQ blog following the judges examination of the work.
